The design of Plasma Technology is similar to and based on the same concept utilized by NASA in the 1960’s for the development of plasma heaters. The application of plasma heating system for waste treatment was pioneered by Dr. Bud Camacho. He started working with plasma heaters for NASA in the early 1960’s for spacecraft application. NASA was America’s first application of large-scale plasma heaters. Dr. Camacho has over four decades of direct experience treating materials with plasma heating system. To-date, Dr. Camacho’s sons, Jeff and Mark Camacho are the designers/manufacturers of the Plasma Arc Technology for PlasMARRC®, LLC.

Because of pioneers like Dr. Bud Camacho, the Plasma Pyrolysis Technology (PPT) sometimes referred to as Plasma Pyrolysis Vitrification (PPV) is the State-of-the-Art Technology designed for the total destruction of all types of waste streams known to mankind. This technology converts waste streams to Electrical Energy and Slag while the off gases generated are inert or non-toxic. The process is totally different from the conventional incineration because the composition of the off gases are mostly (40% Hydrogen ) and ( 55% Carbon monoxide), with no discharge of any toxic fumes experienced.

The forecast for the future pertaining to our current waste disposal practices, are predicted to involve the excavation and conversion of buried wastes at various landfills throughout the country into sources of energy and land reclaimed. Should this become true, the time to strongly and seriously consider investing and implementing this technology is now and not tomorrow. The Plasma torches are in operation in other countries including but not limited to Europe, Japan, Korea, France, Canada and Hawaii.
